Unfortunately, this often means taking your snowboard with you on your flight.

First, you need the kind of shipping container that will protect your board during transit. Otherwise, you run the risk of arriving at your destination and finding out it’s been severely damaged.

Of course, the same goes for your boots and helmet.

Second, you have to take a vehicle to the airport that will fit your board and then you need to drag it inside so you can check it. If you didn’t follow all the airline’s rules when packing it, expect extra fees.

Third, once you arrive, you again need to drag your board and boots, along with any other luggage you have, through the airport and to another vehicle that better be big enough to fit it.
