The most unique aspect of Whakapapa is that it sits on New Zealand’s largest active volcano, located in Tongariro National Park. Conveniently just outside of Munich, Zugspitze is Germany’s highest peak at nearly 10,000 feet. The area also tends to see the longest ski season due, in part, to its high elevation.
