This historic ski resort, just a short drive from Quebec City, offers 70 ski trails across three different mountains. Its northern-facing slopes also ensure the trails and powder stay in good condition into spring.
Whistler Blackcomb is not only the largest ski resort in Canada but also the biggest on the continent of North America. A state-of-the-art gondola connects the resort’s two mountains, Whistler and Blackcomb, making for easy access to the area’s 200 runs over some 8,000 acres. It also boasts an extended season from November to May in which the area averages almost 40 feet of snow.
While Ski Bromont has plenty to offer on the slopes, the area is most famous for its illuminated trails. Of the 142 ski trails, more than 100 are lined by massive lights for night skiing available until the early morning hours. The ski area is spread across three different mountains allowing for a wide variety of terrain for all abilities, too.
While Mount Norquay may not be the largest ski resort in Alberta, its close proximity to the town of Banff makes it an excellent choice for your ski and snowboard trip to Alberta. The resort offers plenty of terrain for every level of skier and the slopes tend to be fairly uncrowded. Mount Norquay is also considered to be one of the more affordable spots to ski in Alberta.
Le Massif is world-renowned for its spectacular views of the St. Lawrence River and for having the highest vertical drop east of the Canadian Rockies. Steep runs and challenging terrain leave little room for beginners at this ski hotspot, but a few trails from the summit to the base are available for novice skiers.
